Passion for Dance

At Salt and Light, we believe in the joy of dance.

My Mission

My mission is to inspire and educate individuals through the art of ballroom dance. I embrace all skill levels, from beginners to advanced dancers

My teaching approach focuses on creating a fun, supportive, and welcoming environment where students can grow at their own pace. Whether you’re preparing for your wedding day, learning to dance socially, or training competitively, my goal is to ensure every student leaves each lesson feeling empowered, confident, and proud of their progress.

Dance should feel joyful, not intimidating — and I’m here to make sure it always does.

My husband and I decided to try a lesson to prepare for our wedding first dance. We both had no experience and were a little nervous at first. Analiese was our instructor on our first day and made us feel so comfortable in the dance studio. She was so patient and did not make us feel judged at all. After the first lesson, we decided to book 3 more lessons with Analiese. The lessons were extremely helpful and our first dance turned out so much better than we expected thanks to Analiese. She taught us some great moves and our dance was a hit. We couldn't have done it without her. We highly recommend her for any beginners!

I am the father of the bride and Analiese Turned Fear Into a Love of Dance: I’ve been taking lessons with Analiese for over two years, and when I started, I was not a dancer at all. I began taking lessons twice a week for one very specific reason: I wanted to be able to dance with my daughter at her wedding. The idea honestly terrified me. I had never danced before. My daughter and I chose a song that was meaningful to her, and it turned out to be a Viennese waltz. If you’ve ever watched one, you know how intimidating that sounds for a beginner. But through Analiese’s patience, clear instruction, thoughtful choreography, and even her help editing the music, the dance turned out beautifully. My daughter was thrilled. I was proud. It was one of the most meaningful moments of my life. After that, I just kept going. I’ve learned tango, foxtrot, waltz, and more Viennese waltz. I’ve even competed in dance competitions. I’m 68 years old, and I now consider myself a good dancer, something I never thought I’d say. What makes Analiese special is that she is both highly skilled and genuinely caring. She understands what beginners need and knows how to guide you without pressure or judgment. Because of her, dance has become a real joy in my life. My girlfriend and I love dancing together now, and that’s entirely because Analiese helped me become someone who can actually dance. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.

As a Marine, I didn’t walk into dance lessons looking for a hobby — I was looking for something that could help me manage PTSD and reconnect with myself in a healthy way. Walking through the door wasn’t easy, but from the very first lesson, I knew I was in the right place.

The environment here is calm, welcoming, and free of pressure. The instruction is patient, clear, and respectful — something I value deeply coming from a military background. Nothing is rushed, nothing is forced. You’re met exactly where you are.

Dance has become more than movement for me. It’s helped with grounding, focus, and confidence in ways I honestly didn’t expect. For an hour, my mind quiets, my body moves with purpose, and I leave feeling lighter and more centered than when I arrived.

If you’re a veteran or active-duty service member dealing with PTSD, anxiety, or just the weight that comes with service, I can’t recommend this studio enough. This isn’t just dance instruction — it’s a place that understands how powerful movement, patience, and encouragement can be.
